As CEO of iPekoSol, I have been at the forefront of tackling one of Africa’s most pressing issues: energy production and distribution. Recognizing that a stable energy supply is foundational for economic growth and development, particularly in industrialization, I’ve been dedicated to finding innovative solutions to this persistent challenge.
The concept of ‘smart energy’—sustainable energy solutions enhanced by information and communication technologies—has been central to our strategy. This approach aims to transform cities and rural communities into thriving, efficient hubs, directly improving productivity and living standards.
My journey in this field began after I obtained my Engineering degree in Information and Automation Engineering in 2008. I gained practical experience before pursuing an MBA in International Business Management, which I completed in 2014. During my MBA, I developed a business plan focused on producing paper and packaging material from banana stems. However, due to uncertainties around long-term stability, I decided not to pursue this venture further.
In 2015, driven by a vision shaped by African market trends and a deep commitment to my community, my partner Abiba and I began to brainstorm what would eventually become iPekoSol. This culminated in the establishment of two companies in 2018, specializing in ICT and renewable energies—sectors vital to both Africa and the global market.
Our companies are now making significant strides in providing renewable energy to rural areas and stabilizing electricity access in urban centers. We emphasize smart, future-oriented electrification supported by ICT, which not only promises easier maintenance but also a substantial improvement in living standards.
Today, as we continue our journey in 2023, iPekoSol stands as a testament to our commitment to addressing the long-standing energy challenges faced by many African communities. We remain dedicated to innovating and leading the way in transforming energy access across the continent.
